About iHeard

iHeard is the Cancer Council’s mission against health misinformation. It has been created to dispel stories, rumours and fanciful claims about cancer by fighting the spread of misinformation and providing users with factual, scientifically supported cancer information.

Our aim is to give you accurate, evidence-based answers to your cancer questions. You can be confident the information we provide is backed by Cancer Council Australia, the nation’s peak, independent cancer control organisation

The world is full of cancer misinformation. If you’ve heard a rumour about cancer, or are unsure about information online, ask us any cancer-related question and your query will be reviewed by our experts.

We want everyone to have the correct information about cancer, so if you know anyone else with a cancer question, why not let them know about iHeard?

If you would like more information about cancer, please visit cancer.org.au or call Cancer Council Information and Support on 13 11 20. Local call cost anywhere in Australia (except mobiles).

When we say something is 'safe' in our iHeard articles we mean that it presents no cause for concern and that risk is reduced to an absolute minimum, if not eliminated entirely.
